was not scripted, but it was a happy moment.
I remember a photo of Pope John Paul II when he was still a priest playing the guitar while on a youth retreat in the woods in Poland, singing “Blowing In The Wind” by Bob Dylan….it goes way back.

Yeah the Pope is infallible – under the following circumstances:
1) if He says beforehand that he is making an infallible statement.
2) And, he makes a statement that is in accord with the Catholic faith as accepted by BOTH
the bishops, AND the laity in general.
if these conditions are not met, then the statement is not infallible. At least that’s what the First Vatican Council set as the circumstances in which an infallible papal statement is really infallible.
So far, there’s only been ONE infallible papal statement – and that was made by Pope Pius XII in 1950 when he declared that doctrine of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which says that Mary’s body was taken to heaven, that she is in heaven bodily.
Why that one? Because after the Vatican investigated the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Fatima in 1917, they concluded that Mary was really physically there. They reached certainty. So the Pope could declare it. The doctrine was affirmed by the college of bishops, and the faithful hailed it. So it is infallible.
That’s great. It is a gift from Jesus who founded the Catholic Church. Truth can be known with certitude. It provides great consolation in a crazy world.
The infallibility of the Pope also serves as a new yardstick for the faithful to discern the validity of the Pope himself. In these END TIMES, it may pass that a demoniacally possessed false Pope could get elected. This false Pope may attempt to make a false “infallible” statement so as to lead the Church astray. For example, the Pope may declare that women may be priests, or homosexuals may marry, or some such false teaching. The doctrine of Papal infallibility will show that he is a fraud.
This may happen sooner than you may think. According to the prophecy of St. Malachy (A.D. 1000) there is only going to be ONE MORE POPE before the “end of the present age.” The final Pope will be known as “Peter The Roman.” It is not clear to me whether this next Pope will be true or false. (at least it won’t be Cardinal McCarrick, thank God)
Notice how our present Pope has expanded the Fatima prophecy to apply to himself also, even after Pope John Paul II seemed to give closure to the Fatima prophecy. Benedict XVI also stated that it was not enemies OUTSIDE the Church that were its greatest danger, but those INSIDE.
There are many other infallible statements in the Catholic Church – all made my Ecumenical Councils. All such infallible statements are doctrinal; none are infallible statements of MORAL LAW. I petitioned Pope John Paul II on two occasions to declare infallibly that marriage is valid only for a man and a woman. But he declined. He also declined to infallibly define as doctrine the idea that Mary is Co-Redeemer along with Jesus.
Jesus infallibly declared that marriage cannot be dissolved. I think that that is the Lord’s only infallible statement of MORAL LAW that is not already in the Hebrew Scriptures, but I may be wrong on that.
I am even sicker of Barack H. Obama than I was of George W. Bush – and I thought I was never going to make it through his second term. There better NOT be a second Obama term…..but there will be.
I DO NOT APPROVE of the Obama’s handling of the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. What is a national security threat anyhow? Is it someone who cracks a joke on an airplane? Or is it a million gallons a day of oil spewing into a National Wildlife Preserve?
The fact is, we are broke, and can’t fix ANYTHING that goes wrong. That’s why Obama got elected in the first place – white people were only going to hand the country over to a black man if the damn thing was BROKE! I can dig that, but they handed it over to the WRONG BLACK MAN.

Obama didn’t DO anything to stop the Oil Spill because he WANTS it to happen. Disasters only enhance the power of the Chief Executive to control, command, and further centralize power. He is not going to help the states. He is all about taking control.

I don’t trust this guy Obama, not a word he says. Slick Willie lied opportunistically. Obama lies pathologically. I think he might be possessed, and would really like to see Catholic bishops/priests do an official exorcism of Mr. Obama. But those wimps will never do that. I never heard of the Catholics doing that to Hitler, and I think we’ve got something WORSE than Hitler on our hands right now in Washington, D.C.
just wait. things to look forward to: a) a military disaster of unprecedented proportions – probably in Afghanistan. but maybe in South Korea where we have 28,000 troops that we cannot rescue from a land invasion from the North.; b) direct takeover of the American Government by the Executive Branch – either through martial law in response to social upheaval, or fear of loss of control due to election results, Obama will call a “Constitutional Convention” and change the law of the land, and entrench himself open-ended, i.e. beyond 2 terms., c) a New World Order with Obama as the first executive.
So you see I am totally pessimistic at this point. I cannot imagine anything worse happening to the United States, and the world, than President Barack H. Obama, and I am willing to wager that what I am predicting will come true in one form or another.
Whatever happened to Nature that women hate it so much?
They don’t like to breastfeed. In fact, women today are having a REAL PROBLEM with their breasts.
Bras are being bought and sold that turn women’s breasts into unrecognizable, uniformly smooth bumps.
Even when women show cleavage – it is unnatural. The breasts are so rigidly confined that the visibility of the breasts do not convey any hint of attractiveness…rather…it’s more like an armor shield deliberately designed to put off all semblance of the feminine.
It’s fear of Nature, that’s what it is. Women are afraid of their own Nature.
Oh, they want NATURAL FOOD. But not natural sex. Very, very, weird.
Birth control pills and Natural Food don’t go together, girls. There’s a disconnect going on, and it’s in the head.
Take Body Hair for example. Women hate body hair now for the same reason – they are afraid of their own Nature.
Pregnancy is basically considered an illness that requires a “health” treatment – abortion. Women are driven to kill their own spawn because they are so, so dreadfully, afraid of Nature.
Women are afraid of penises. They want to cover then with plastic. Sperm is INFECTIOUS, and needs to be killed with some form or other of toxic chemical.
So, there is an increase in Lesbianism because of all this fear of Nature. It puts men off, particularly young, inexperienced men, and pushes them toward homosexual choices.
I want to point out the road back. The path that will lead women back to Nature. It is NATURAL BIRTH CONTROL, i.e., knowing when she is fertile, and when she is not fertile, by getting in touch with her Natural cycle of vaginal mucous secretions.

SEOUL, May 28, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Despite parents’ pleas, a South Korean court has ruled that frozen embryos are not living and thus may be experimented upon and destroyed at will.
The ruling was issued against a suit filed by the parents of the embryos, as well as eleven other individuals, including philosophers, ethicists, and doctors. In addition, the two embryos themselves were listed among the plaintiffs.
The embryos were created for a couple with the surname Nam. A total of three were produced by in vitro fertilization and one was implanted. The other two were to remain available for implantation or to be used for scientific research.
However, the Nams had a change of heart and, aided by a team of experts, sought to vindicate the rights of their unborn children.
“Bioethical laws that define artificially inseminated embryos as non-human bundles of cells treats them as tools for research and mandates their disposal at the end of a preservation period, and is a violation of the fundamental right to life,” the plaintiffs wrote.
However, the court disagreed, claiming that before fourteen days of development, an embryo is not a human being. ”Although we acknowledge the basic rights of fetuses before birth, pre-embryos, which have been fertilized but within which the ‘primitive streak’ has not yet formed, cannot be regarded as humans,” the court wrote.
“Embryos that are less than 14 days from insemination have the potential to become a human being but have no independent humanity. They should not be granted the same constitutional rights as a human being,” said Kang-kook, president of the Constitutional Court.
“We cannot expect people to be seeking embryos that are more than five years old for artificial insemination purposes. But the cost of their preservation is immense. The donors of the embryos may feel uncomfortable, but this should not prohibit their use for research purposes,” he added.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul’s Life Committee denounced the decision, noting its dehumanizing premises.
“Every human being goes through the embryonic stage,” said Father Park Jung-woo, director of the Committee. “Catholics regret this decision by the Constitutional Court because we are opposed both to the artificial creation of embryos and to their use, once created, as tools for manufacture, as they are entitled to dignity as living beings.”

The danger of Kim is that he is truly, clinically, insane.
In some ways that could make it easier to deal with him because he can be predicted.
I think that is the case now. However…in this case…the prediction is not good.
First, beyond the egomania, is the grandiose projection of self to the point where in his mind the country is an extension of his own ego. In his mind he IDENTFIES himself with the country of North Korea, and vice-versa. He is North Korea, and North Korea is Kim.
[In a certain sense this is true of all royals, kings etc. World War One occurred because the assassination of the Archduke of Austria, who was a member of the royal Hapsburg family, was viewed according to international law as an attack UPON THE NATION - and all the diplomatic alliance, pacts, and treaties became operable...so everyone got involved.]
The problem is that Kim’s decrepit old body is sending him biofeedback that HE IS DYING. Kim’s recent trip to China may have included medical diagnosis and/or treatment for an incurable condition – as well as approval for potential future military action, or, of course, approval for the sub’s sinking of the South Korean vessel one month prior.
So the psychic landscape looks grim….Kim is dying and is willing to destroy the country in suicidal glory.

Is Kim really crazy enough to do this? We in the West would like to think not. However, we are not the primary target for his wrath. Those in the region need to look more closely, and be willing to act more forcefully, than others beyond the reach of Kim’s missiles.
Other national problems bear on Kim’s likelihood to attack. Such as the food supply for North Korea. Foreign food aid is about to run out next month, harvest looks grim, which means winter will bring death: Kim’s personal death, and national death from starvation.
Could Kim be merely just bluffing in order to coerce further food relief?
Yes. It may be possible to hold such an opinion. Under “normal” circumstances it would be wise to steer events toward placating the crying baby and give him his bottle. However, the present situation may not be normal….
Because Kim may be insanely suicidal.

I would suggest in-depth consultation with the best psychoanalysts available. Go over every detail.
It may be possible to justify a path toward peace.
However, the evil of our times is that the principle of the “so-called” justifiable first strike option – the “Bush Doctrine” as we call it- is a wild card destabilizing factor. How wicked that the United States holds this principle. We only have come to this point because we have lost all moral right to exist, and can only do so by threat of bully force.
Be that as it may. We have allowed ourselves the choice to attack North Korea first, if we find that Kim is suicidally insane and liable to launch an imminent attack. North Korea threatens nuclear weapons…but they have a very limited way of delivering them…few launching pads…These may be taken out with an initial attack. But at the moment of the West’s attack (Japan has to be in on this!! because of the danger to them in this situation) North Korea’s armies will quickly attack.
It will be very difficult to stop their advance into South Korea. However, if Kim himself were to be killed with bunker busting bombs in the first attack, the army may be come disorganized.
I cannot imagine what modern horrors of weaponry the West is ready to employ to thwart a North attack…maybe there is something new that can stop men from functioning. A sonic bomb. or something of that sort.

Another factor also threatens the South. That is President Obama.
His startling inaction in handling the crisis of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is a revelation about his INdecisiveness.
Besides this disturbing development, there is also the additional OFF SCREEN scenario called the apocalypse, end-of-world scenario. President Obama seems to be playing into this scenario in a frightening mode.
I pray for the generals of South Korea as they confront this array of terrifying options. ”Face” is not important. Peace is important. Perhaps war can be postponed until Kim dies. And the air clears.

I added a new photo today. Thomas Merton and the Dalai Lama. Merton was (almost undoubtedly) assassinated while in Asia to attend a Buddhist-Catholic dialog. He was too dangerous.

Thomas Merton was a big help to me in my efforts to resist – and to cause to be ceased – the military draft for induction into the Army during the Viet Nam “police action,” as it was officially categorized. Merton’s writings were, that is.
So maybe he was killed by Americans. Or maybe the Buddhists had him killed out of jealousy that Merton knew more of their philosophy than they did, and accepted it by transcending it, baptizing it, and enveloping it with God’s revelation. Who knows? WHO KNOWS!?
Merton’s audio tape series is really wonderful. In fact, there’s nothing on Earth like it. It forms a solid base from which to proceed in any effort at mutual understanding between the Oriental philosophies and a Catholic world-view.
Ignorant Chinese leaders block knowledge of Catholic theology and philosophy. They are shooting themselves in the foot! Proof that civilian leadership in China is being pushed closer, ever closer, to an edge of a cliff over which they will surely fall.
That is not something I wish to see – because I do not wish militarists to ascend to power in China. Open China to full dialog with the Catholic Church!!! This is the only way I see for the civilian leadership to bond with the people of China, and thus legitimate itself. Otherwise, events will turn in China to militarist repression as the last grasp at saving Mao’s empire.
Just like the Sun’s magnetic field lines snap and reverse every 22 years – and the Earth’s every 250,000, or so – the world’s socio-economic structure ruptures, and reforms, every 75 years.
that’s the hypothesis to this blog entry. It is a commentary on the present state of international finance, and political structure.
Not surprisingly, in the Bible, Jesus addressed exactly the same problem – and it was the first thing He ever did in His earthly ministry. Speaking in the synagogue of his hometown, Nazareth, Jesus called for a JUBILEE YEAR. The prophets of old had laid out what a Jubilee Year was supposed to be: no taxes, forgiveness of all debt, no work other than what is necessary. In other words, a complete wiping clean of the old slate, – a FRESH START.
Also, not surprisingly, the people of His home town wanted to throw Jesus down the hillside. Rome would never have tolerated Israel calling a Jubilee Year, and not paying taxes. But that’s the problem right there.
The old systems corrode, and become encrusted with the detritus of greed. The next generation becomes impeded and unable to move the ball forward. Everything clogs up, and then, COLLAPSES.

The last time the stock market crashed, and there was a world-wide depression was 1929.
If, a Jubilee Year had been instituted PRIOR to that…let’s say 1925. Then not only would the crash have been obviated, but the rise of Nazism and the whole Second World War could have been avoided.
We should have had a Jubilee Year again sometime after the turn of the Millennium. All the signs to do so were in place. But greed tried to squeeze the last drop out of the rock, and now look what we’ve got. If China’s economy implodes due to the loss of its marketplace abroad, then the insane militarists in that country will ascend to power and war will become inevitable.
Stupid Europe is trying to pay off Greece’s debt…to keep the whole thing going…like the “bailout” in the USA the previous year…without changing any of the causes of the problem, merely shoring up the same decadent structures….it can only fall again, and the fall will be worse.
75 years prior to 1925…1850….or let’s say 1848 because there is some “play” in this organic system. 1848 was a year of incredible social chaos and violent restructuring of old Europe. A Jubilee Year prior to 1848, say in 1845 would have assuaged the rising classes, and prevented the solidification of old royal Europe that burst apart in 1914.
75 years prior to 1848, in 1776, we see the American Revolution unleash a series of violent uprisings for independence that didn’t end until the 1820′s with the unification of the Italian states. All this could have been accomplished without these wars if the Jubilee Year – or something like it – built into the modus operandi of these legal persons we now call nation states.
The United Nations ought to really consider this.
75 years is the span of a man’s life. It’s a yardstick built into the intercourse of human affairs. Jesus saw it. God inspired the solution to the problems it causes: The Jubilee Year. WIPE THE SLATE CLEAN ! forgive the debts!!!
